AIDS Memorial Grove N MEM
San Francisco, CA

An affiliated site of the NPS, The National AIDS Memorial Grove is located at the eastern end of Golden Gate Park, north of the bowling greens and west of the tennis courts.  You can find the stamp in the grove every Thursday from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM when tours are given.  You can also contact the office at 856 Stanyan Street, 415-750-8346.

Channel Islands NP
Ventura, CA

You'll find this one at 1901 Spinnaker Drive in Ventura, at the Channel Islands Visitor Center.

Death Valley NP
Death Valley, CA

The Death Valley National Park Visitor Center is located in Furnace Creek on Route 190.  The stamp is at the information desk.

Devils Postpile NM
Mammoth Lakes, CA

The site is 22 miles west of Mammoth.  The stamp is kept in the Ranger Station.

Eugene O'Neill NHS
Danville, CA

The Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site is a house located in the middle of a private residential area of Danville.  Because of this, the park service does not allow visitors to drive to the site.  You must make a reservation and you will be bused to the site.  But I didn't do that.

Fort Point NHS
The Presidio - San Francisco, CA

Fort Point stands beneath the southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge.  The stamp is kept in the bookstore.

Golden Gate NRA

You can find this one at Muir Woods.

Golden Gate NRA - Alcatraz
San Francisco, CA

This stamp is on The Rock, and the only way to get there is via water.  Since it is not easy to get here, you might as well enjoy the site.  The award winning audio tour of the cell house is extremely interesting.  The Blue and Gold Fleet boats leave from Pier 41.  You may need to make reservations for tickets as this in an extremely popular tourist destination.  Check out the Blue and Gold web site for boat schedules and fees. You can purchase tickets on-line or by calling 415-705-5555.  The stamp is kept at the Ranger Station next to the bookstore, right at the boat docks.

Golden Gate NRA - Cliff House
San Francisco, CA

The Cliff House is at the Northern end of Ocean Beach, on Point Lobos Avenue.  Parking can be difficult.

Golden Gate NRA - Fort Funston
San Francisco, CA

The Fort Funston Visitor Center was closed both times I visited.  However, there was a ranger in the South District Ranger Station, right next door, and he got me the stamp.  The site is between Skyline Boulevard and the Pacific Ocean, south of the San Francisco Zoo.

Golden Gate NRA - Fort Mason
San Francisco, CA

Fort Mason is the headquarters of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.  It is located on Bay Street, between Van Ness and Laguna.

Golden Gate NRA- Marin Headlands
San Francisco, CA

The Marin Headlands lie northwest of the Golden Gate Bridge.  The visitor center is located on Bunker Road, at the intersection of Field Road.

Golden Gate NRA- Presidio
San Francisco, CA

The Visitor Center at the Presidio's Parade Grounds is where you can find this stamp.  It is on Montgomery Street near Sheridan Avenue.  The stamp is on the information desk.  There is also a stamp here for the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail.

John Muir NHS
Martinez, CA

This site is located at  4202 Alhambra Avenue in Martinez.  Take the Alhambra Avenue exit from Route 4, and the site it just north of the exit.  The stamp is at the desk in the information center.

Kings Canyon NP - Grant Grove
Grant Grove, CA

From Fresno, head east on route 180.  The Grant Grove Visitor Center is a few miles past the Big Stump Entrance.

Lassen Volcanic NP
Mineral, CA

I got this stamp at the Northwest Entrance Station, but it can also be found at Park Headquarters in Mineral, outside of the park boundaries.

Lava Beds NM
Tulelake, CA

Ask for this stamp at the Visitor Center, about 24 miles from Tulelake.

Manzanar NHS
Independence, CA

Manzanar, or what is left of it anyway, lies along US-395 about halfway between Lone Pine and Independence.  But there are no NPS facilities there.  Instead the stamp can be found at the Interagency Visitor Center in Lone Pine, at the corner of US-395 and route 136.

Mojave N PRES - Baker
Baker, CA

Mojave has four different stamps.   The Baker Information Center has two of them, including this one.  The center is directly under the very large thermometer.  From I-15 take the SR-127 exit and turn right up Baker Boulevard.

Mojave N PRES - Barstow
Barstow, CA

You can get this one at two places.  It's at park headquarters in Barstow at 222 East Main Street, Suite 202, and at the Barker Information Center.

Muir Woods NM
Mill Valley, CA

Muir Woods is only 12 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, via US-101 and route 1.  The visitor center is at the north end of the parking lot.  Ask for the stamp in the bookstore.

Pinnacles NM
Paicines,CA

The Bear Gulch Visitor Center is 5 miles from route 25, halfway between Hollister and King City.  Turn southwest from 25 onto route 146 and follow it to the end.

Point Reyes NS
Point Reyes, CA

The Bear Valley Visitor Center is located just west of Olema, off Bear Valley Road.  The stamp is kept at the information desk.  The same stamp is also available at the Point Reyes Lighthouse.  The lighthouse is 20.5 miles further along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

Port Chicago Naval Magazine N MEM
Concord, CA

To visit this site you'll need to call 925-838-0249 or 925-246-5591 and make an appointment, as the memorial is contained within the Concord Naval Weapons Station and is not accessible to the public.

Redwood NP
Crescent City, CA

Redwood National Park has three stamps, and this one is kept the at Crescent City Information Center.  It's located at 111 Second Street, just a couple blocks west of US-101.  You'll find the stamp at the information desk.

Redwood NP - Hiouchi
Hiouchi, CA

One of the three Redwood National Park stamps,  this one is the most difficult to get, as the Hiouchi Information Center is only open during the summer months.  It is located on Highway 199,  just west of Hiouchi, at the northern end of the park.

Redwood NP - Orick
Orick, CA

The third Redwood National Park stamp, is kept at the Redwood Information Center, 1 mile south of Orick on US-101.  The stamp is at the information desk, to the right when you enter.

San Francisco Maritime NHP
San Francisco, CA

The Maritime Museum is located at the intersection of  Beach and Polk Streets, near the Hyde Street cable-car terminus. Ask for the stamp at the information desk.

Santa Monica Mountains NRA
Thousand Oaks, CA

The Headquarters and Visitor Center for this park are located north of US-101, just outside the boundary of the recreation area.  Take the Lynn Road exit from US-101 and head north, then take the first right onto West Hillcrest Drive.  Follow the signs up to the visitor center parking lot.

Sequoia NP
Lodgepole, CA

The Lodgepole Visitor Center is deep inside the Sequoia National Park, along the Generals Highway.  From the north, take route 180 from Fresno through Kings Canyon, about an 80 mile ride.  From the south, take route 198 from Visalia, about 55 miles but a much more twisty route.

Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity NRA
Whiskeytown, CA

The visitor center for this site is located right along route 299, 8 miles northwest of Redding.

Yosemite NP
Yosemite, CA

Yosemite has a few different visitor centers and information stations, which may all have this stamp.  I got it at the Tuolumne Meadows Visitor Center along route 120, not far from the Tioga Pass Entrance.
